How does it work?
Reiki practitioners receive training and attunements which raise and accelerate their energy flow. The practitioner provides the treatment by gently laying their hands on specific points of the body and channeling the universal life force energy through their hands. As the energy flows into and through the client’s body, it dissolves and releases energetic blockages that can impede the body’s natural ability to heal.
What are the benefits?
Reiki compliments and enhances all types of medical treatment. It helps relieve stress, agitation and acute or chronic pain. It is helpful as an aid for sleeping and can also be an energizer. It promotes the release of long held emotions such as grief, anger and anxiety. Reiki accelerates the body’s ability to heal. It can produce feelings of mental clarity, calmness and spiritual well-being. Reiki has been effective as an aid in healing virtually every known illness and injury. Every person responds differently to Reiki. The healing that is initiated by Reiki is within the client themselves and is being activated by the life force energy flowing through the practitioner.
What are the side effects?
There are no side effects from Reiki. It is non-invasive and safe for all ages from premature babies to the elderly. Reiki can be performed on a client while they are lying down, sitting or standing. No adjustment in clothing is necessary as Reiki can flow through any barrier including casts and can even be sent distantly.
What to expect…
Having a Reiki treatment is very simple and relaxing. You will lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed, for the duration of your treatment. Modesty is respected at all times. The Reiki practitioner will place their hands gently on top of your clothing over key positions of the body. Clients are encouraged to relax and often fall asleep during the treatment because they find it so relaxing.
What not to expect…
While Reiki is often associated with massage, a Reiki treatment does not include massage. A Reiki practitioner is not a medical doctor and is not qualified to make diagnosis or prescribe medications.

Activating Your Ability to Channel Reiki Energy
What is Reiki Certification?
The ability to facilitate the flow of Reiki is not learned in the traditional sense but is passed on from a Reiki Master Teacher to his/her students by a series of up to four initiations or attunements. The attunements serve to reopen the student to the natural flow of universal life force energy and
increases their capacity for this flow. Attunements are given in a workshop setting where students also learn Reiki history and techniques then have the opportunity to practice learned techniques on others. The Reiki Master Teacher gives the attunement to each individual student by performing energy work on them to open the channels that will allow the Reiki energy to flow through them. Reiki and the energy it utilizes are completely natural and have been with us forever. The process of the Reiki attunement simply reconnects us to something that has been lost over time.
Reiki Level I
In Reiki Level I you will be attuned to Reiki energy and will leave with the ability to channel this energy to yourself or others that are in your physical location. This attunement gives you the lifelong ability to access and channel universal life force energy at will.

Prerequisite
- I ask that all my Level I students read a Reiki book of their choice prior to the workshop and bring the book with them to the workshop. The purpose for this is to insure each student has at least an introductory understanding of Reiki. Most bookstores carry a wide selection. Check the Health or Alternative Healing section and choose one that speaks to you.
Reiki Level II
In Reiki Level II you will learn more advanced techniques and receive the second attunement. This attunement further opens the energy channels and gives you access to 100% of the energy that is available.

Reiki Level IIIA
In Reiki Level IIIA you will be attuned to the Master Healer level. The workshop for this level teaches Master healing methods.

Reiki Level IIIB
In Reiki Level IIIB you will be attuned to the teaching aspect and gain the tools and knowledge necessary to teach and attune others to Reiki energy. You will leave this workshop as a fully certified Reiki Master Teacher.
